Amplified Wind Solutions wins 2013 Ohio Clean Energy Prize

We like to call our little corner of Cleveland the "clean energy corridor", because down the block are the headquarters of EcoWatch, and right across the street is our neighbor, Amplified Wind Solutions. Yay Tremont! Last month, Amplified Wind Solutions won the 2013 Ohio Clean Energy Challenge. You may have noticed the AWS generator on top of Progressive Field - the corkscrew like wind turbine.  AWS moves on to compete for the national award in April.  Below is the happy AWS team getting the ever popular giant winner's check. Congrats to everyone at AWS!! Good news for Tremont, and for Cleveland.

Tremont Electric founder & CEO, Aaron LeMieux, inventor of the nPower® Kinetic Energy Harvesting technology, joins Phyllis Cuttino of the Pew Clean Energy Program and Dexter Gauntlett of Pike Research to discuss Pew’s findings and recommendations for federal clean energy policy.

“It’s time for America to lead on clean energy,” said LeMieux, whose company sells the nPower® PEG, the world’s first human powered kinetic energy charger for handheld electronics.  Placed in your backpack, the nPower® PEG harvests your kinetic energy as you move, storing it for use when you need it most, off the grid.

“To compete effectively for clean energy jobs and manufacturing, the United States must adopt national policies that stimulate diverse domestic clean energy investments and production, said LeMieux. “It’s an honor to work with the Pew Charitable Trusts Clean Energy Program to move our country forward toward a new economy built on renewable energy.”

Please join us for a webinar to discuss the findings and recommendations for federal policymakers.

CNN called the nPower® PEG "best tech for disasters"

A Cleveland customer charged her phone twice during Hurricane Sandy before getting power back.  SmartPlanet called the nPower® PEG the "best charging device ever."  An Appalachian Trail backpacker said she'd trade a day's food if she had to, just to have the peace of mind she gets from the nPower® PEG.  A Cleveland customer said it's like a spare gas can you fill up by walking around.  The nPower® PEG won the 2012 Edison Award Silver Medal for Power Generation, and the 2010 Consumer Electronics Association i-Stage Second Place Award for Innovation. Click here to see a video of how the nPower® PEG works.

Happy REI Customer With PEG

Got this pic from the Dallas REI store.  Gorgeous smile!

4 stars in our 1st REI customer review

REI customers are tough....and our first review gave us 4 stars out of 5!

This thing charges (with the adapter) my iphone 10% in about 15 minutes. More reliable than a solar panel, because I don't have to wait for the sun to come out. I precharge it with my computer and then put it in my backpack for commuting and traveling. It works great!  BOTTOM LINE: Yes I would recommend this to a friend.

Thank you!
