Westinghouse engineers and scientists have over 28,000 US government patents. For over a century, the company has been innovative and reliable in producing high-quality products-Everything from reliable generators to electrical installations.

Since they have over 100 years of experience in power generation and they made their first generator in 2011. The first design was portable and delivered excellent power output.

Whether you are looking for RV, remote job sites or household generator, their portable generators come with superior features such as:

Westinghouse iGen2500 Portable Inverter Generator

This is the ultimate portable generator for RVs and households. It’s so compact and light that you can carry it and move around with it. It weighs 48lbs.

Although it is so little, it can supply 2200 running watts and 2500 of start-up watts. Since it’s efficient in fuel production, you’ll find it perfect for any electrical device.

The Westinghouse generator has a refrigerator and AC units. It’s 98cc engine, and economy mode allows it to run at low revs when there’s low power, therefore using little fuel. That means the 1-gallon gas tank can run for 5 hours on a 50% load capacity.

Since this is an inverter generator, it comes with stable sine waves with 3% less harmonic distortion. If you operate the generator at 50% load, the harmonic distortion is less than 1%. That means the generator won’t harm sensitive electronics.

The generator weighs 48lbs and has built-in carry handles for excellent transportation. With this generator, you have an automatic low oil shutdown and power overload protection.

The purpose of the overload indicator is to flash a red light when the unit is loading. This model comes with four outlets:

Westinghouse WH2200iXLT Super Quiet Portable

Westinghouse WH2200iXLT Inverter Generator with All-Weather Cover - 1800 Rated Watts and 2200 Peak Watts - Gas Powered - CARB CompliantThe Westinghouse WH2200iXLT is a quiet and friendly generator. In other words, something to behold when you are not at home. When buying a generator, you need to know two things:

  • Starting watts- It is how much power the generator needs to start your appliances.
  • Running watts- the power your generator needs to supply to keep all the devices running.

That said the WH2200iXLT has a 2,200 starting watt and 1,800 running watts. Traditional generators are excellent, but they don’t produce clean power to charge delicate electronics. The good news is, the WH2200iXLT provides clean energy that won’t harm your devices.

Most importantly, it’s an efficient model will boast of a machine’s fuel economy. The runtime of a generator shows how efficient a generator can be.

The WH2200iXLT can run for 13 hours on a full, 1.3-gallon tank which operates at 25% load. If you are using the efficient mode, you can extend this time to over 3 hours. The WH2200iXLT has four outlets:

  • Two standard 120v home outlets
  • Two 5V USB ports to charge your electronics

The generator produces low noise since it has 52 decibels from a 10 feet distance. The machine supports a parallel connection.

All you need is to use a cord to hook it up and increase the wattage. At 43 pounds, the WH2200iXLT is light. Besides that, it features an easy-to-carry suitcase handle which aids the movement.

The unfortunate thing with the WH2200iXLT is that it’s not water-resistant. That said, you can order a special bag to protect the generator from precipitation.

Pros

  • CARB compliant
  • Produce less than 3% THD
  • Easy and quick to assemble
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Lacks an electric starter
  • Not water-resistant

Westinghouse WGen3600v Portable Generator

This generator comes in two variations. The one with wheels and one without, but they all have the same power capability. The generator pushes out 3600 as operating power, which makes it an excellent backup generator for homes and RV electrical devices.

Since it has a 4650w as a peak lead, you need a capacitor starter and ballast to use it well. One thing you need to be careful about it is, the circuit breaker may trip if you a refrigerator and AC.

That said, it would be much preferable if you use an energy star refrigerator in a situation like this.

The generator comes with a sturdy steel frame, which is 1-inch thick. As expected, the generator weighs 112 pounds, which is a lot more. That means you’ll need a helping hand if you want to move this generator from one place to another.

The Westinghouse WGen3600 has the following outlets:

  • One duplex 5-20R 120V outlet
  • Two standard household 120V outlets
  • 1, 125-VOLT L5-30R outlet
  • 1, 125-Volt TT-30R outlet

There’s a circuit breaker that protects all the outlets. Its engine is 212cc OHV 4-stroke engine which resembles the WGen200. Despite it being a small model don’t expect the same fuel efficiency.

That’s because you’ll be drawing a lot of current from the alternator. The generator has 3600 running watts and 4500 as starting watts. Its fuel tank capacity is 4-gallon.

The generator can run for 12hours on a 50% load capacity. That way, you get power to all your devices at once — the generator boast of fuel efficiency to save fuel expenses.

There is an additional security feature such as a low oil shut off that shutdowns instantly. When the oil is little, this stops the generator from overheating with low oil supply, therefore maintaining the generator’s motor.

Pros

  • Effective engine
  • Long run-time hours
  • Durable hardened steel frame

Cons

  • Too heavy
  • A bit noisy

The Westinghouse WGen 5500

Westinghouse WGen5500 Portable Generator - 5500 Rated Watts & 6850 Peak Watts - Gas Powered - CARB Compliant - Transfer Switch ReadyThe Westinghouse has a constant power output of 5500w and peak watt of 6800w. That’s why it is much more of a practical option for home backup. Although you’ll be limited, you’ll have to choose appliances that will need to use the generator.

If you are looking for a generator that can power up your RV along with your AC, the WGen5500 is the ideal option. It’s engine capacity doubles that of WGen 5500 and WGen 3600.

This is a 420CC 4-stroke, OHV engine that’s compliant in all 50 states. The generator has an excellent fuel consumption like the smallest models.

The generator has a 6.6-gallon gas tank that can run for 13 hours on a 50% load. Despite it having a big engine, the generator lacks an electric starter.

You’ll have to use a recoil starter to start this generator. The beauty of its 420cc engine is that you can quickly start it even in cold weather. All you need is to start the pull.

I think the reason why it doesn’t have an electric starter is to reduce the weight of the generator. That way, you don’t have to struggle with the weight of the starter motor and battery. That said, the generator weighs 179 pounds.

This is too heavy. Besides that, the generator comes with a durable tubing frame and stable 10″ wheels, which makes it easier to move.

The control panel of this generator features digital display information like volts and hours. The generator comes with three outlets:

  • 2 X 5-20R 120 V duplex receptacles
  • LIR-30 Receptacles.

The main reason why I love this generator is excellent touchpoints that guide you through the starting process.

And within 15 seconds, you will have the generator running in record time. If all you want is a robust and durable mid-size generator, then you can’t go wrong with the Westinghouse WGen5500.

Pros

  • Stable, powerful output of 5800 peak watts and 55,00 running watts
  • Runs on 14-hour with a 50% load
  • Features 2 GFCI to protect you from electrocution
  • CARB compliant

Cons

  • At 72 decibels, the generator is noisy
  • No electric start.
